Assessment by Lecturer

Purpose: These working instructions apply whenever an assessment of an exchange student is needed prior to his or her admission.

For whom: Lecturers who have to assess applications by exchange students.

Whenever an application has to be assessed, a new task appears under ‘Application’ on the start screen.

After the lecturer has clicked on the task, the aspects on which each student is to be assessed are displayed.

When a task/line is selected, the overview of the application is displayed. The overview is shown under ‘Application’.

The documents supplied by each student can be viewed using this screen.

Assessment of application by lecturer

Under the ‘my assessment’ section, the lecturer can register his/her assessment. There are various options and stages in this process.

The process starts by putting the application in editing mode:

Depending on the aspects for which the International Office has requested an assessment, one or two options are displayed here:

  1. Assessment based on prior education
  2. Assessment based on level of English

 

1. Assessment based on prior education

Once the assessment has taken place, there are three possible options:

  1. Approval of prior educational qualifications
    Select, and then click on ‘Save’ - this will temporarily save your selection. Select ‘Submit'and the application will return to the School Administrative Office, who will process it.
  2. Non-approval of prior educational qualifications
    A field will appear in which you will be asked to enter the reason for your choice.
    Enter the reason and then click on ‘Save’ - this will temporarily save your selection. Select ‘Submit'and the application will return to the School Administrative Office, who will process it.
  3. Additional information required
    A field will appear that you can use to ask for additional information from the student.
    Enter the additional information and then click on ‘Save’ - this will temporarily save your selection. Select ‘Submit'and the application will return to the School Administrative Office, who will process it.

--> Once the student has posted their response, it will be visible in the ‘Application’ tab under ‘Additional information required’. Any newly added files can be found here too.

When the fields have been completed, select ‘Save’ - you can amend this later if you wish.
The ‘Submit’status will take your request back to the School Administrative Office, who will then continue to process the application.

2. Assessment based on level of English

Als de beoordeling heeft plaatsgevonden dan zijn er 3 opties mogelijk:

  1. Level of English satisfactory = Yes
    Enter the reason and then click on ‘Save’ - this will temporarily save your selection. Select ‘Submit'and the application will return to the School Administrative Office, who will process it.
  2. Level of English satisfactory = No
    A field will appear in which you will be asked to enter the reason for your rejection.
    Enter the reason and then click on ‘Save’ - this will temporarily save your selection. Select ‘Submit'and the application will return to the School Administrative Office, who will process it.
  3. Additional information required
    A field will appear that you can use to ask for additional information from the student.
    Enter the reason and then click on ‘Save’ - this will temporarily save your selection. Select ‘Submit'and the application will return to the School Administrative Office, who will process it.

The ‘Submit’status will take your request back to the School Administrative Office, who will then continue to process the application.
