Starting out with Osiris Case for Academy staff/employees

1. Defining the process of the Case in Osiris Basis.

The process will be discussed in advance with the academy/educational programme. Functional Application employees instructed in Osiris from the department DFS will undertake this process.

2. Matching coaches and students

In order to use the SLB process in Osiris, it is essential that a coach is matched with a student. This can be done per student group or student. 

Matching coaches and students is a task for the academy's back office and it can be done in Osiris Basis It is important that an end date is chosen.

2a. Why match a coach with a student?

You match a coach with a student for 2 reasons: 

  1. Students can see who their coach is and contact them easily. 
  2. Depending on the filter chosen  (Supervisor Active students) the coach can see only his/her own students. ("own students"). Therefore he/she can see an overview of which students he/she is responsible for. SLB tasks and students' progress are only visible to the matched coaches. You can match several coaches to a (group of) students. This way coaches can take over tasks if necessary.  

 

3. Starting a Case

Starting a CASE happens in Osiris Basis.

Go to Student > Start case

Select: Start case (menu 2.2.42)

1. Select the Standard selection Case (faculty)

2. Fill in the selction criteria (your own academy instead of Avans) 

Advice: Only start cases for students with active code 4.  Take care to choose the correct filter in exam type (registration) so that you do not exclude students from other years who have not yet got their Propedeuse. If you are not sure if you are making the right choice ask your Osiris co-ordinator.

Tip: Add to your selction the student group and start cases per class, so that you do not start cases in more than one educational programme. 

3. Select the students:

Careful! A student can appear in more than one educational programme depending on which programmes they have registered. Check/Decide which educational programme you wish to use for the new case.  

4. Click on  [Action: Start case]

Fill in the details of the case.

  1. Choose the case that you wish to start  (SLB process)
  2. Fill in the school year
  3. Fill in any addtional details (period) if available
  4. Add any additional information

A confirmation screen will appear. If you create a double case a warning screen or an error screen will be shown.
